Initiative Transparente Zivilgesellschaft

In Germany, there are no uniform publication requirements for civil society organisations. Yet transparency helps to make one's own work comprehensible to the public and donors, thus strengthening trust and credibility.

In 2010, on the initiative of Transparency International Deutschland e.V., numerous actors from civil society and academia defined ten basic points that every civil society organisation should make accessible to the public. These include, among other things, the articles of association, the names of the key decision-makers and information on the source of funds, the use of funds and the personnel structure.

#VertrauenMachtWirkung

The foundation of the future should bring about sustainable change, be a transformative donor and interact participatively - both internally and externally. To this end, the #VertrauenMachtWirkung initiative, founded in 2019, is stimulating a critical debate on the transformation of the philanthropic sector nationwide in cooperation with various foundation representatives, defining collective values and goals and putting them into practice. The initiative presents nine theses on how the foundation of the future can look and function.

Stiftung Bildung

The Stiftung Bildung is a donation-financed foundation under civil law that aims to create the best educational opportunities for children and young people. To this end, Stiftung Bildung works directly at the grassroots level through the nationwide network of daycare and school support associations (Fördervereine), strengthens those involved and turns ideas into reality on the ground. Kitas and schools actively shape the diverse education system themselves, oriented towards the respective children and young people of their location, and thus change society. Stiftung Bildung is a member of the Bundesnetzwerk Bürgerschaftliches Engagement (BBE), the Bundesverband Deutscher Stiftungen (BVDS) and the Paritätischer Wohlfahrtsverband Berlin. This makes daycare and school development associations part of these networks.
